On a voyage of self discovery in 1998, I realized the great potential
of paint and canvas to explore a multitude of abstract ideas, personal
thoughts, and daily observations. Since then, I have sought to engage
the viewer, through the use of line, shape, value, texture, and color,
in an interesting visual presentation upon which one may bring their
own unique perspective to guide their interpretation of my work
.

I create art with my subconscious in command. My awareness of color and juxtaposition of line and shape compliments each artistic decision I make. I like to work freely and without theme.

I strive to appeal to the average everyday Joe as well as to the experienced art critic. Through simulated organic lines and pungent color, I hope to identify with many of life's emotions and situations that make us all human.

I love to make art because of the freedom of expression that it provides and the cathartic nature of creating. Over the years, I have evolved from a portrait artist focused entirely on realism to a style where intense lighting, heavy contrast, fluid movement and violent texture are vital in the process of my articulation.

However, while I do believe that my body of work maintains a consistent sensibility, I feel that because I am continually evolving as an artist that to lock myself into one particular style or medium would undeniably stifle my creativity. My goal is tot continue to define myself through my work, while allowing myself the autonomy to change.

I take photographs of just abut anything. I add colors, filter and use
new-fashioned tools and old-school eye. Then I sell prints to the
highest buyer. Is it a living? No, just my life.

I
'd like you to join me in a little art adventure as I learn ,
discover and create.

I have practiced photography for almost ten years, studying at Hollins University until 2006. I work mainly in digital format, but I am also familiar with film and alternative processes, such as cyanotype.

The starting point for my art was when I learned tradition basket
weaving 25 years ago. Over time, through experimentation, the use of
non-traditional materials and forms, my baskets became more sculptural.

If the material was malleable, I would use it. Through the years I
have created my work in many media from weaving, watercolor, and
pottery to almost any form of mixed media.

Most of my work tends to be sculptural as I am most comfortable
working with texture and dimension.
My predominate influences are primitive art and cultures and I think
that is reflected in my work.

I'm constantly on the journey of growing and trying new techniques to
keep my work exciting for my myself and my audience.
